Transform forgotten paintings and drawings into something brand new!

What is a Mosaic?

A mosaic is an art form where small pieces of material (like tiles, stones, or paper) are put together to create a bigger picture. It's like making a puzzle out of tiny pieces, but each piece is a little work of art all by itself!

Supplies:

  • Old drawings or paintings

  • Scissors

  • Glue

  • Paper or cardboard (use cardboard for a more sturdy base)

  • Optional: pencil, modpodge

How-to:

  1. Gather old artwork: collect artwork that you wouldn't mind cutting up.

  2. Cut the art into small pieces: You can cut them into squares, triangles, or even funky shapes, anything that makes you excited. These will become the puzzle pieces for your mosaic.

  3. Plan your mosaic design: Lay out the paper pieces or use a pencil to outline your design

  4. Glue paper pieces down  Pro Tip: Use Mod Podge, to brush over the top of the pieces once they’re glued to give your mosaic a shiny, finished look!

  5. Let dry

Why recycled art is so cool:

Recycled art is not only a fun way to be creative, but it also helps protect the planet! Instead of throwing away old artwork, you can reuse it and give it new life. Every recycled mosaic is unique! No two pieces will ever be the same.
